A note from Elijah Johnson, owner
I'm Elijah. I started The Matador Detail because I got tired of watching people give up half a Saturday sitting in a waiting room for a car that came back half-clean. So I bring the shop to your driveway instead. I do the work myself, I text before I turn up, and I send photos when I'm done — whether you're home or not. If it isn't right when you see it, tell me and I'll come back and put it right.

Text me what you drive and where you are. Members get a standing day each month, so it lands on the calendar once and nobody has to remember to book it again.

Water, power, product, equipment — it all comes on the truck. You leave the car in the driveway and hand over the keys. Nothing to drop off, nothing to arrange.

You don't need to be home. I text before I arrive and send photos when it's done, and you walk out to a car that looks the way it did the day you bought it.

Heavy pet hair, extreme soiling and anything hazardous carry a set fee. I’ll tell you and get your OK before I start — it’s never added without asking.

Do you really come to my house?
Yes — that's the whole idea. I bring water, power, product and equipment with me. You leave the car in the driveway and get on with your day. You don't even need to be home; I text before I arrive and send photos when it's done.
What does a one-time detail cost?
A full inside-and-out detail is $195, done at your home or office. Heavy pet hair or anything extreme carries a set fee — I'll tell you and get your OK before I start, and it's added to the same charge after the detail.
What's the difference between a one-time detail and the membership?
A one-time detail is exactly that — one full inside-and-out detail, charged once when it's done. The membership is one full inside-and-out detail every month for $150, charged to your card after each month's detail. Members get a standing day and priority on the schedule.
When is my card charged?
Only after the work is done. When you book, your card just holds your spot — nothing is charged. Once your detail is finished, the card is charged and a receipt lands in your email. If plans change, cancel up to 2 hours before your scheduled time and you won't be charged.
Is the first wash free?
No — I'd rather be straight about that. Book a one-time detail at the regular rate. If you start a membership within seven days of it, what you paid comes straight off your first month — so you are never paying twice to try us.
Am I locked into a contract?
No contract. Your card stays on file and is only charged after each detail, and you can cancel the membership anytime — just text me.
Do you take on offices and teams?
Yes. One day a month I come to your business and detail the team's cars on site — from three cars up. It's priced per car and gets cheaper the more cars are on it. Details are in the Matador at Work section above.
What areas do you cover?
I serve Lubbock, Texas and the surrounding South Plains. If you're a little further out, call or text and we'll work out whether it makes sense.
